Publishing subscriber

This is a dual role topology. In this topology, the publishing server or database also subscribes to another server or database. However, the publication and subscription do not cover the same set of data. This is also done when ServerA needs to publish its data to ServerB while at the same time ServerC needs to publish data to ServerA.

Anonymous

Anonymous replication is a new topology in 7.0. This is used mainly for publishing information over the Internet when you don’t know who the subscribers will be. In the rest of the replication topologies, you would need to open a port on your fire wall to enable publishing information to a server or database outside your firewall. Since you might not know who the subscriber is, this would not be very wise. Anonymous replication gets around this by allowing the publication to travel through the firewall without making your systems vulerable. This topology utilizes a push subscription.
