SQL Server has the capability to horizontally or vertically partition a table. This means you can select either a subset of columns, a subset of rows, or both to publish. To illustate this, we will create a new publication and partition the tables. If you havent already, bring up the Create and Manage Publications dialog box by selecting Tools | Replication | Create and Manage Publications. Click the Create Publication button to launch the same Wizard as was used during the creation of the previous publication. For brevity, I will not walk through all of the screens and options since that has already been done. I will insead select all of the same options as before with the exception of the partitioning we will do. After passing through the first five screens and selecting the defaults, you will see Figure 14-51. Select the publish all button and click Next twice.
