SQL Compare 1.01 1 2

I had to dig for this a little.  Highlight the object and click the second button from the right and a screen similar to the one below will be displayed.  At this point, I found the compare rather deficient.  Triggers are not split separately and compared.  Instead, they are all lumped together with the table and compared as one big batch.  This needs to be fixed in a future version.  Other than that, it accurately detected differences and ignored whitespace.

From the main workspace, you can also view all of the objects on the servers you have registered in a simple tree view style.

Overall, SQL Compare gives you a simple utility to compare objects across servers or databases.  It only works against 7.0 servers, so you can not use it to compare between versions.  It also needs some functionality adjustments and the login methods need to be cleaned up.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give SQL Compare a 5.  For a 1.0 product, it does a pretty good job.

SQL Compare is produced by Red Gate Software.  I can't really complain too much about it though, because the price is the best you can possibly get.   At the current time, SQL Compare is free.
