Schema Manager 1.0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Even though writing scripts is not an inherent function of Schema Manager, you still have access to all of the same tools as you would had you been creating scripts in RapidSQL.
The usefulness of Schema Manager depends greatly upon the type of environment you work in. For those environments that are extremely volatile, Schema Manager should give you payback in a week or less. If you are running a very large environment or a replication environment, the compare feature will be invaluable to help keep the schema on multiple machines in synch. For environments between these extremes, it is very hard to determine. If you own the other Embarcadero products, the same functionality can be accomplished through your existing tools. It will just take longer and be more of a manual process in some cases. In either case, I would recommend keeping tabs on this tool as it gains in maturity. Schema Manager is produced by Embarcadero Technologies. As of the writing of this review, the price for a cross platform version was $1995. |
