Enterprise Manager will present a list of databases, but to get any information about the database requires opening a dialog box to get sizing information and even then it doesn’t tell you when the tran logs were last dumped. DBArtisan gives you this data as well as the current size of every database simply by highlighting the databases item. Also, there is an outstanding bug in Enterprise Manager for reporting database sizes. The work around for this is to execute a stored procedure and then add up all of the values to determine you current size. DBArtisan does not have this drawback, because it is already using that stored procedure behind the scenes and totals up all of the data for you.

Aliases can not be created in Enterprise Manager, unless you know exactly where to look. DBArtisan provides an extremely simply interface to add an alias and will also show all aliases for a database in a single list.  Getting this same information inside Enterprise Manager would require opening multiple dialog boxes. Enterprise Manager will simply present a list of users for a database, but to get any useful information about them you must open up the dialog for each one. DBArtisan gives you the most important information in a grid for all users by highlighting the users item.

Enterprise Manager simply presents a list of tables when you open the tree view, whereas DBArtisan will present all of the necessary statistics for all tables when you highlight the tables item.
