How can I connect from Delphi to SQL 7?

You need to at least be on BDE 5.01. This knows about SQL 7.0 systems tables etc. However it is still db-lib based and therefore does not support Unicode, Varchars greater than 255 bytes and any other SQL 7.0 only feature.

Inprise (Borland) will be bringing out an ADO alternative in the future - check their website for details.
